Gono Bishwabidyalay

Gono Bishwabidyalay (Gono University) is a private university at Nolam, Mirzanagar, in Savar, Dhaka. The non-profit Gonoshasthaya Kendra founded it, and it has a strong health sciences strand. The Ulkaa Edu Rank 2027 places Gono Bishwabidyalay in the 51-75 band. The position is computed from the published methodology. In the QS Asia University Rankings 2026 it sits in the 1301-1400 band. UGC figures record 3,478 students (2023) and 190 teachers, 26 of them with a PhD (2023).

Gonoshasthaya Kendra established the university. Wikipedia's infobox gives 14 July 1998 as its date of establishment, the same year the UGC recognised it, while the article text dates the earlier People's University to 14 July 1994. Its motto is "A University with a difference". Its sister institution is the Gonoshasthaya Samaj Vittik Medical College, and Wikipedia notes that students and doctors work in 46 rural health centres.

The campus covers about 32 acres in a rural setting at Nolam, Mirzanagar, Savar. Because of the link with Gonoshasthaya Kendra, community health work is a visible part of the university.
